Understanding Your Check-in Status
Checking Your Current Status
Your dashboard will always show your current check-in status:
- "You are currently checked in at [SITE NAME]" - You're registered as present at that site
- "You are not currently checked in" - You're not registered as present at any site
Multiple Sites
If you're assigned to multiple sites:
- You'll see a separate card for each site on your dashboard
- You can only be checked in to one site at a time
- Checking in to a new site will automatically check you out of your previous location
Important Guidelines
When to Check In
- Always check in when you arrive at your workplace
- Check in as soon as you arrive to ensure you're included in emergency procedures
- If you're using automatic check-in on mobile, still verify your status regularly
When to Check Out
- Always check out when you leave your workplace
- Check out when leaving for lunch if you're leaving the building
- Check out at the end of your working day
Your Responsibility
It's your responsibility to ensure you're properly checked in when on-site. During emergencies, only checked-in staff will be accounted for in the headcount.
What Happens During Check-in
Successful Check-in
- Your status updates immediately on the dashboard
- You become part of the site's emergency procedures
- You'll receive fire drill notifications (if enabled)
Successful Check-out
- Your status updates to show you're not currently checked in
- You're removed from the site's emergency headcount
- You won't receive fire drill notifications for that site
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Problem: Can't See Check-in Button
Solution: Ensure you're assigned to the site. Contact your Site Administrator if the site doesn't appear on your dashboard.
Problem: Check-in Status Not Updating
Solution:
- Refresh your web browser or close and reopen the mobile app
- Check your internet connection
- Try checking in again after a few moments
Problem: Checked In to Wrong Site
Solution:
- Check out of the incorrect site immediately
- Check in to the correct site
- Remember: you can only be checked in to one site at a time
Problem: Using Both Web and Mobile Apps
Solution: Your check-in status is synchronised across both platforms. Checking in on one platform will update your status on the other.
Alternative Options
If Manual Check-in Isn't Working
- Try using the alternative platform (if you're on mobile, try the web app at https://reggiefiredrill.co.uk)
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection
- Contact your Fire Marshal or Site Administrator if problems persist
Automatic Check-in Option
If you're using the mobile app, you can enable automatic check-in based on your location. This will check you in and out automatically when you enter or leave the site geofence.
